FAT FREEZING
(CRYOLIPOLYSIS)
IN BRISBANE

What is Cryolipolysis?

Fat freezing treatments are localized fat reduction treatments. Its technology freezes the adipose tissue at -8º in a totally safe and non-invasive way.

During the freezing process of the fat tissue, only the fat cells are damaged. This is because these cells are rich in fatty acids, which begin a freezing process at temperatures as high as 10º.

Prior to the treatment, the areas to be treated will be defined according to the type of tissue and fat fold. Once defined, the most appropriate handle for your treatment will be chosen.

Pre-treatment   -      FAQs

IS IT A SAFE TECHNIQUE?

Cryoadipolysis is a safe non-invasive technique that activates the apoptosis procedure by applying controlled cooling to permanently remove a significant number of fat cells from the treatment areas. This, unlike other invasive methods, is not a procedure that requires anesthesia or recovery time, since the elimination of this process is natural and physiological.

CAN I TREAT UP TO 2 ZONES AT THE SAME TIME?

Now with Cooltech it is possible to perform a treatment with 2 applicators simultaneously in the same session, this will help achieve a complete body remodeling in less time.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED TO SEE RESULTS?

Treatment sessions vary depending on the type of patient and treatment areas, normally results are noticeable 3 months after the first session. To maximize these results we recommend following a low-calorie diet low in saturated fat and physical activity 3 times a week.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT SESSION?

It is necessary to leave an interval of 6 to 8 weeks for the same area of treatment. It is suggested to do a maximum of 4 areas per session, however all treatment plans must have previous medical evaluation.

IS IT COMFORTABLE?

The activation of the inflammatory process may cause a mild pain referred as pins and needles or cramps in the treatment area, however the intensity of the pain will depend on the vascular and nerve irrigation of the treatment area, this symptom is usually self-limited within a few hours after treatment without any therapeutic measures.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT LAST?

There are 3 treatment times depending on the applicator used: 45 minutes for small areas and applicators; and 50 and 70 minutes for large areas and applicators.

The time will be selected based on the availability of the patient and according to the effectiveness you want to obtain.

IS THERE A RECOVERY PERIOD?

“The cryoadipolysis procedure with Cooltech has no recovery period, you will be able to continue your daily activities immediately after treatment”.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

The results of the treatment are permanent, however to maintain these results it is important to have a definitive change in eating and physical activity habits.

RISKS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS

Risks, even if they are few, exist.

We do not recommend CRYOLIPOLYSIS when the patient has the following characteristics:

  • Strong reaction to cold temperatures such as cryoglobulinemia (cryoglobulins present in the blood), cold urticaria or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria (the sudden presence of hemoglobin in the urine).

  • In the case of poor blood circulation in the area to be treated. If the patient has Raynaud’s disease (impaired blood circulation affecting the extremities such as fingers, toes, nose, ears).

  • Hernias.

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.

  • Patients wearing or fitted with an electronic device (such as an artificial pacemaker).

  • When there is an injury, eczema, inflammation, recent surgery on or near the area treatment.

  •

The results are convincing and long-lasting providing you do not put on too much weight following the treatment.

MUST NOT HAVE:

Cryoglobulinemia (inflammation of the blood vessels) or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria (autoimmune disease – rare type of haemolytic  anaemia)

Known sensitivity to cold such as cold urticaria (skin reaction to cold eg. hives) or Raynaud’s disease (discoloration of the fingers and/or the toes after exposure to changes in hot or cold temperature)

Impaired peripheral circulation (vascular disease) in the area to be treated *

Neuropathic disorders such as post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles) or diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage caused by diabetes)

Impaired skin sensation

Open or infected wounds

Bleeding disorders (blood cannot clot properly) or concomitant use of blood thinners (prescribed to prevent blood clots and stroke)

Recent surgery or scar tissue in the area to be treated

A hernia or history of hernia in the area to be treated

Skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or rashes

Pregnant or lactating minimum 6 months

Before Treatment

Avoid taking any medications or supplements that thin your blood, such as aspirin, fish oil or St. Johns Wort. (These all have blood thinning properties that can make you more susceptible to bruising. It’s best to stop taking them at least 5 days before your session). However, before doing that please talk to your family doctor to make sure it’s okay. Your doctor may also suggest alternative medications that you can take during this time.

Drink at least 600ml of water before treatment time and at least 2L per day after treatment.

Areas must NOT have wounds, bruising, sunburn. Cryolipolysis involves some massaging and suctioning of the area being treated. If your skin is cut or excessively bruised, you might need to postpone your treatment to prevent your wound from getting worse.

Avoid tanning your skin in the target area. (Tanning can make your skin more sensitive to treatment) To minimize discomfort, it’s best to protect your skin from the sun exposure before your treatment.

Eat healthy before your treatment. A healthy diet will help to improve treatment results as your body be functioning at an optimal level.
